About Weaverland Disaster Service

A voluntary service program of Weaverland Conference affiliated churches, sending volunteer groups to help families recover from disaster.

What we do

When a storm, flood, or fire damages homes, we take on individual projects — usually one property and one family at a time. Work ranges from cleanup and debris removal through to repair and rebuilding, depending on what the home needs and what the family can manage on their own.

Projects are grouped under a response — a particular disaster in a particular place — and scheduled a week at a time. Each week is covered by one volunteer group, with lodging, meals, and on-site hosting arranged in advance.

Who we serve

Homeowners, without regard to church affiliation. Volunteers come from Weaverland Conference affiliated churches, coordinated through each congregation's own VS representative.

Privacy

We work in people's homes, at a difficult time for them. Names, addresses, and contact details of the families we serve are never published — this website shows only a general description of each project and the dates a group is needed.
